About Carol Cronin

Originally from Co. Wicklow and now based in Kerry, Irish artist Carol Cronin’s seascapes capture the power and ever changing moods of the Atlantic Ocean and the rugged West Kerry coast.

Having lived in The Netherlands for 10 years, Carol moved to Kerry in 2002, spending the summer living and working on the Great Blasket Island before moving to Dún Chaoin that October. She held several independent sell-out shows before showing her work with both the Greenlane Gallery (Dingle and Paris) and The Killarney Art Gallery. In 2005 Carol opened her own Gallery in Green Street Dingle, showing exclusively her own work.

Her time spent in Dún Chaoin influenced her painting enormously. Carol has exhibited in New York (The Magnan Metz, Chelsea) and her work is in the collections of (amongst others) Jimmy Deenihan TD Minister for Arts, Heritage, and the Gaeltacht, and John Warner (American Museum of Art). Her work has been featured on RTE and the Discovery channel USA. Carol was an invited artist at the Arte Utile festival in Sicily and her work has been commissioned by, amongst others The National Archives of the Netherlands and University College of Cork.

Her work has been exhibited widely , including the Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA), Dublin, Fairfields Hall, London and the AK47 Gallery, Dusseldorf.
